Wicked: For Good (Wicked: Part Two) is an American film that is all set to be streaming on The Peacock Hub on the JioHotstar OTT platform from 21st March. It is a reimagining of L. Frank Brain’s 1990 classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its 1939 film version, based in part on Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel and the second act of the 2003 stage musical by Stephen Schwartz and Holzman. Story/Plot
The story centers on Glinda (Ariana Grande), Oz’s adored but politically involved queen, and Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), who lives in hiding as the “Wicked Witch” while fighting for animal rights. The Wizard’s autocratic leadership, their divergent paths, and the situations related to The Wizard of Oz are all explored in the movie. After the events of the previous movie, the tale takes place “12 turns of the tide,” with Elphaba living in exile deep within Oz’s woodlands.
